Adam Chaffer

Adam practises across construction, commercial, business, property, chancery, insolvency and education-related disputes. He is an accredited mediator and an associate member of the Civil Mediation Council. His mediation work reflects his pragmatic, down-to-earth approach and draws on his experience across both the public and private sectors.

Before coming to the Bar, Adam practised as a solicitor in Newcastle for seven years, specialising in construction and commercial dispute resolution. During this time, Adam gained his higher rights of audience (civil) and became an accredited mediator. His practice includes construction adjudication, adjudication enforcement, contract disputes, shareholder matters, insolvency, debt recovery, defamation, breach of confidence and related commercial disputes.

Adam also has a developing education practice, with a particular interest in special educational needs.

Adam is the author of the Law Society’s Litigation Handbook: A practical guide to practice and procedure in the Business & Property Courts and has written widely on construction law and mediation, including editing and contributing to Trinity Chambers’ regular specialist newsletter, Construction Law Brief.
