Birju practises across employment, business and property, housing, education and regulatory matters. He is an accredited mediator registered with the Civil Mediation Council.

His employment work includes unfair dismissal, discrimination, reasonable adjustments, harassment, unlawful deduction from wages and whistleblowing claims.

In business and property matters, he advises on contractual disputes, directors’ duties, partnership and shareholder claims, insolvency, ToLATA, contentious probate and landlord and tenant disputes, including forfeiture and enfranchisement. He also has experience in housing law, including possession claims, disrepair, homelessness appeals and injunctions.

Birju also has a particular interest in professional discipline and regulation. He sits as a Panel Chair for the Nursing and Midwifery Council Fitness to Practise Committee and as a Lay Tribunal Member of the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service.

He speaks fluent Gujarati, enabling him to offer a culturally sensitive approach where needed.
